Do not use the “Service Reference” option. Click the “Add Service Reference” menu item. It will bring you to the dialog you entered the WSDL path into. Instead of doing that, click on the “Advanced” button, which will bring up another dialog. From there click the “Add Web Reference” button at the bottom of the form which will bring up the dialog I had originally posted in my article and enter the URL (which will add the “Web Reference”).
